Town of Barrington
EMERGENCY MEETING OF COUNCIL

February 7, 2005


The meeting was called to order by the Warden at 8:15 in the Conference Room, in the Administrative Centre, in Barrington, N.S., with the following members present:

- Warden Sterling Belliveau
- Deputy Warden Fred Bower
- Councillor Louise Halliday
- Councillor Donna LeBlanc-Messenger
- Councillor Eddie Nickerson
- Councillor Larry Stewart
- Councillor Sean Strang

- Brian Holland, Municipal Clerk

The Emergency Meeting of Council was called pursuant to Section 19(3) of the Municipal Government Act where the Warden determined that there is an emergency.  All councillors agreed to meet without notice in order to deal with the suspension of the South Side Pirates Hockey Team from the Arena

A recommendation was brought forth from the Committee of the Whole Meeting held on the same evening.

Moved by S. Strang and seconded by E. Nickerson that it be recommended to Council that the Property Services Manager be instructed to remove the suspension of the South Side Pirates from the Barrington Municipal Arena effective immediately.

Motion carried unanimously.

Resolution C050201

Moved by E. Nickerson and seconded by F. Bower that the team representatives of all teams in the South Shore Recreational Hockey League, the Barrington Recreational Hockey League, the Barrington Area Old Timers Hockey League and the over 45 hockey group be requested to meet with the Committee of the Whole at the earliest possible convenience in order to discuss the enforcement of the "No Tolerance" Alcohol and Smoking Policy at the Arena.

Motion carried unanimously.
