WAIVER OF NOTICE OF MEETING

Members agreed unanimously to waive the notice of meeting in order to conduct an emergency meeting to deal with two matters that are necessary to deal with due to time constraints.

Leave of Absence Request

Warden Belliveau has requested a leave of absence, effective immediately, until the Council meeting of June 26, 2006.  The Warden has recently been elected Member of the Legislative Assembly for Shelburne County and as a result wishes to have a leave of absence until the next public meeting of Council at which it is anticipated that he will resign as Warden.

Resolution C060624

Moved by E. Nickerson and seconded by D. Messenger that the leave of absence requested of Warden Belliveau be approved by Council.

Motion carried unanimously.

Municipal Swimming Pool Lifeguard Instructors

Council recently approved hiring four (4) lifeguard instructors for the summer season at the Barrington Municipal Swimming Pool.  One of these individuals has obtained alternative employment in the interim and will not be available.  As a result it is necessary to hire another student as lifeguard instructor in order to open the pool as scheduled.

Resolution C060625

Moved by S. Strang and seconded by L. Stewart that Benjamin Comley be hired at the Barrington Municipal Swimming Pool for the summer season as a lifeguard instructor.

Motion carried unanimously.
