Barrington Passage - Causeway Area Submerged forest. A broad area of 1,000 year old fossil tree stumps still rooted in the original soil is exposed on the low tide flats here near the southernmost tip of Nova Scotia. 
The 50 Cape Cod families who founded Barrington Township came together to build a community meeting house in 1765. It served as a religious meeting house for all preachers of the Gospel as well as a place to hold community meetings and elections.  Cape Sable Light.
