Assistance for Children

Would your child like to participate in a sport or recreational activity, but the registration costs are way too high for your budget? The Kids Fair Play Program is designed to assist children and families with the costs associated with sport and recreation programs. The objective of the program is to create opportunities for all children and youth, regardless of socio-economic backgrounds.

To apply, contact the Recreation Department at 902-637-2903. Applications are reviewed every three months and are all confidential.

If you need assistance with a sport in Nova Scotia (soccer, baseball, hockey, etc) please use the KidSport application.

The Canadian Tire Jumpstart program also offers financial assistance to kids. This national program can cover equipment, registration and/or transportation costs.

The Municipality also offers a variety of Grants & Rebates that can be viewed here.
