The Municipality of Barrington is accepting Expressions of Interest from individuals from the Municipality wishing to serve on the Audit Committee.
There will be two (2) citizen vacancies on the Committee, effective April 2021.
The Committee oversees the external audit of the Municipality’s financial statements and the resolution of audit findings. The Committee also reviews internal controls, accounting systems and risk management.

NEW DATES ANNOUNCED FOR 2022 WORLD DOUBLE BIT AXE THROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS
BARRINGTON, N.S. - The World Championships will take place in the Municipality of Barrington from Friday, August 26th to Sunday, August 28th, 2022.
December 8, 2020 (Barrington, NS) – The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Global Axe-Throwing Commission (GAC) are announcing today that the World Double Bit Axe Throwing Championships in Barrington have been officially rescheduled for August 26-28, 2022. These new dates were identified after consultation with the Municipality, the Nova Lumberjacks Society (NLS) and the participating countries through the GAC.

Barrington Municipal Council is considering repealing By‐law No. 11 “Animals” and replacing it with By‐law No. 11 “Animal Control By‐law”.
The newly drafted by‐law provides more detail on what is required when an animal is impounded, how long it will be held, etc.By‐law No. 11 “Animals” to be repealed and the redrafted By‐law No. 11“Animal Control By‐law” may be inspected at the Municipal Office, located at 2447, Highway 3, Barrington, NS, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30p.m., Monday to Friday.

Barrington Municipal Council is considering the adoption of proposed amendments to By‐law No. 25 to remove “Agape Youth Café from Schedule “A” as they no longer own the property identified as AAN 01612204.
We have recently received a number of complaints and inquiries relating to the distribution of flyers in our Municipality. Particularly with flyers piling up on properties or becoming litter when it rains and snows.
We've determined that if a resident no longer wishes to receive flyers, they can contact The Chronicle Herald — the primary distributor of door-to-door flyers in our Municipality — at 902-426-3031 or 1-800-565-3339. The same number can be phoned if residents would like to confirm receipt of flyers.

Concerns related to public safety, security, and economic uncertainty
