Municipal Pool Set to Reopen for Summer Season
BARRINGTON, NS - The Municipality is happy to announce that liability insurance coverage for the municipal pool has been reinstated, following the completion of temporary repairs and the approval of a longer-term repair plan. This important development allows the Municipality to move forward with plans to open the pool for the 2025 summer season.
Municipal staff have already begun the necessary preparations, including cleaning, conducting system checks, and performing other start-up tasks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users. At the same time, the Recreation Department is finalizing staffing and program schedules and expects to share further details, including a tentative opening date, by the end of this week.
“We know how important the pool is to our residents, especially during the summer months,” said Warden Shaun Hatfield “We thank the community for its patience as we worked through this process, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back very soon.”

This Committee plays a crucial role in advising the municipality on ways to remove barriers and ensure that our community is accessible and inclusive for all residents. We are looking for members with lived experience of disabilities or a strong interest in advocating for accessibility. Members will help guide the updating and implementation of the municipality's Accessibility Plan and provide valuable insights into accessibility needs and solutions.
