Spring Clean Up 2019

Spring Clean up will start Monday April 15, 2019. Items will be collected on the same day as regular waste. Iems must be placed by roadside not later than 7:00a.m. on Collction Day.

Wood must be tied in budlles. Items must not weigh more than 70 kgs or be longer than 3 meters.

Please ensure items are proplerly prepared for collection, if not they may be rejected.

MUNICIPALITY OF BARRINGTON
AUDIT COMMITTEE VACANCIES

 

The Municipality of Barrington is accepting Expressions of Interest from individuals from the Municipality wishing to serve on the Audit Committee. There will be two (2) citizen vacancies on the Committee, effective April 2019.

The Committee oversees the external audit of the Municipality’s financial statements and the resolution of audit findings. The Committee also reviews internal controls, accounting systems and risk management.

Appointments will be for a two (2) year term. Meetings are scheduled as necessary.

Citizen members are required to show a strong demonstration of financial awareness. Additional information may be obtained by contact the Municipal Office.

Expressions of Interest will be accepted until vacancies have been filled.

Public Hearing - Sale of Municipal Property

PUBLIC HEARING

SALE OF MUNICIPAL PROPERTY

MUNICIPALITY OF BARRINGTON  

In accordance with Section 51(3) of the Municipal Government Act, a Public Hearing will be held for comments and suggestions of the public prior to Council making a final commitment on conveying the property listed below:

 - Former Port Clyde Fire Hall located at 285 Port LaTour Road, Port Clyde, NS, Assessment Account Number 03788687.  The assessed value of this property is $244,500.00. 

The Clyde Area Community Centre Association has been using this property and has expressed an interest in owning it. 

The Public Hearing will be held during the regular Council Meeting on February 25, 2019, in the Council Chambers, in the Administrative Centre, located at 2447 Highway 3,  Barrington, N.S. and will commence at 7:00 p.m.
